Design Process

  • Project Planning with the client

    We start by listening to the clients needs and requirements and by visiting the property, in order to develop a brief, a budget and a strong design concept.

  • Preparing sketch designs and making estimates of cost

    Next we develop outline drawings and discuss layouts. Finalise plans and drawings and obtain quotes that are in-line with your agreed budget.

  • Detail Design

    Develop design drawings ready to build, carry out cost checks, advise and adjust accordingly.

  • Implementation

    The final step to making it happen is to appoint the contractors and work closely together to produce a result that exceeds your design ambitions.

LIME interior design studio was established in 2003 in Sliema, Malta.
Having completed the International Baccalaureate in Oxford, UK, Davina Preca graduated with a BA (Hons) in Interior Architecture & Design from Nottingham Trent University, UK, in 2001.

As a founding member and current President of MIDA, the Malta Interior Design Association, she is a firm believer in continued learning and the importance of interior design as a reputed profession. She is a board member of the European Council of Interior Architects (ECIA).

Our design philosophy is to design internal spaces taking into consideration the relationship between the architectural context and the designed interiors. Together with an understanding of human need and the physical design elements including form, proportion and scale, materials, detail, colour and light. The focus is to combine a creative imagination with a functional logic. A deeply rooted family business in the hotel and restaurant industry led an evolution towards specializing in hospitality and restaurant design.

Over time our portfolio ranges from commercial, residential, hospitality, retail and leisure projects. Every project begins with understanding your needs, requirements and budget to translate this into an interior that is equally elegant, contemporary and unique to your home or business.
